That's right - tomorrow, October 8th is World Zombie Day! and yes, zombies are the only monster to have a day dedicated to their awesomeness (and by awesomeness, I mean a flesh-eating, completely possible apocalyptic nightmare in which all of humanity is at risk of extinction)! Ummmm...anyways, World Zombie Day isn't just about celebrating zombies and the zombie culture - it's about doing something good.
National Geographic explores possibility of Zombie Virus via Rabies-Flu Hybrid. Ker Than, of National Geographic News, reports that a genetic tweak, though highly improbable, could create a mutant rabies virus. Referencing such well known zombie movies as 28 Days Later and I Am Legend, Ker explains that certain viruses can, in fact, induce the aggressive, zombie-like behavior, displayed in these movies.
