Know your enemy. Know their nature. Understand their strengths and their weaknesses, their effectiveness and their vulnerabilities. Know yourself, and train yourself to overcome your own weaknesses. Sympathy or hesitation has no place in the fight against zombies. Don’t waste your time thinking about what they once were. They’re not human anymore. They are not fickle in their objective; they have but one. A zombie commits 100% to their objective and will not stop, no matter what. Feeding on you is the only goal they have. You are their next meal, and their hunger is insatiable. A zombie’s strength lies in it’s persistence, it’s mouth and, if still in tact, it’s two hands. A zombie’s main weaknesses are a...

Rise of the MAD Flu: Day 3

Patient Zero. Nothing is being divulged to the public, except that a man by the name of Dean Foes, who had been stationed at Travis Air Force Base (about 30 miles southwest of San Francisco), is now believed to be the first diagnosed with this flu. They’re calling it the MAD flu, which stands for Motor Ascendency of Dependent. The name obviously has reference to Mad Cow Disease, and basically means a complete motor function authority shift, in which the virus is completely in control of, and dependant on the human brain. More paranoid theorists are calling it the Zombie Virus, as it apparently causes severe dementia, lack of coordination, and leaving the host to fits of rage, though...

Multiple Zombie Attackers

Remember, in many cases you will be faced with multiple zombies. Though they are not of the herd mentality, due to the nature of a zombie, they tend to follow their instincts. In doing so, a zombie will be attracted by sight (any movement they see), sound (this could be anything from a twig snapping to another zombie’s moan), and scent. A zombie’s sense of smell is incredibly acute, as it is probably the most dominant sense that a zombie has to rely on, to sift out the living flesh from the dead. This in turn, is what would attract multiple zombies in an area to a single source, a single target. One zombie senses the presence of living...

Techniques are nothing without the conditioning to effectively implement them. In a time when you will be forced into small or limited quarters, a proper approach to conditioning for that environment and new way of life is necessary for long-term survival. Here are some key exercises for your daily regimen to keep you in optimal zombieocalypse shape: NOTE: Stretch thoroughly before each exercise. You cannot risk pulling a muscle in these times. #1. Run In Place – Aerobic exercise will become more critical in the zombie apocalypse. Running is the one thing that may keep you alive from zombies in the early stages. Though uncoordinated, they can still be fast, and most certainly a threat. This should be your...

Rise of the MAD Flu: Day 2

blog-image2-vaccination

I wouldn’t classify myself as paranoid or a conspiracy theorist, by any means. But when we’re told that this new virus can actually alter the behavior of those infected…to be a danger to those around them, one has to wonder what the media’s true objectives are. Now, instead of feeding on fears based on our own health, they intend to attack them as they relate to our family and friends. This is a sample from the latest newscast: “We strongly urge everyone to be vaccinated. There have been reports of serious injuries to those within close proximity to the infected, by the infected. We’ll keep you posted as we learn more.” Related Zombie Survival Posts:Rise of the MAD Flu:...

What is the Zombie Apocalypse? The Z-Apocalypse is the state of the world as it is overrun by zombies. As the infection of the zombie virus spreads, it becomes a plague of the likes we have never seen. From Patient 0, it is estimated that it will take anywhere from 4 to 7 months before the undead outnumber the living. For the months to follow, it will be a daily fight for survival as the undead continue to gain in numbers. Decay does not come fast enough. Seasons are looked upon not as a gauge for what shoes you might wear that day, but a gauge for zombie decay. Summers bring a stench 1000 times more potent than the...

Zombie Virus

Though a virus is more susceptible to environmental conditions, they tend to evolve very quickly. This adaptability lends itself to evolve to strains with higher tolerances to outside variables and higher risk of infection, especially if the zombie virus has its origins as a form of bio-chemical terrorism. The Zombie Virus, which we refer to as the MAD Flu (Motor Ascendency of Dependent), having reference to Mad Cow Disease and meaning a complete motor function authority shift, in which the virus is completely in control of, and dependent  on the human brain. Infection would occur by direct fluidic contact. Being that zombies are driven by a primal need for the most basic of human instincts, it would be logical...

Rise of the MAD Flu: Day 1

Let me start by saying that I’m sick of the media feeding on our fears. It seems they’ll stop at nothing for ratings; embellishments, omitting facts, creating entire stories based on a grain of salt. Whatever happened to honest reporting? Well, that’s why I’m writing this. We can no longer take what the major outlets try to pass off as truth. Those days are gone. Let me begin by introducing myself and lay out what you can expect from me. My name is Nathan. I’m a designer for an online retailer and, given my occupation, I felt like contributing something more, something with substance. So here I am. If I can lay some truth out there so the world...
