With graphics for gaming consoles becoming almost surreal, you don’t usually expect these visually spectacular games to be relatively simplistic in both storyline and game play. Many have become so detailed you have to live the life of your character in countless hours of game play that if left for any period of time becomes confusing. Not so with Grasshopper Games’ Lollipop Chainsaw. Some might see its simplicity as goofy. I found it refreshing. Simple combo chains, purchased abilities and in-game sides keep the play fresh.
In a lot of zombie based survival horror games, you are required to “protect” another character. If they die…you die. Not so here. If one of your fellow classmates succumb to the hordes no problem! They turn and join in the fun. The somewhat unique storyline is entertaining in itself. Our heroine Juliette Starling comes from a family of magical zombie hunters and being cheerleading captain makes for a full life for this teen. Along with help from your boyfriend Nick (or at least what’s left of him) you can play interesting side games, get bonuses and cheer him on as he takes over another zombie body to help you move obstacles.
You have Zombie Basketball as well as Zombie Baseball and a myriad of other games that can be played with Zombie heads and body parts. So get inventive! It’s always nice to be able to play a game with finesse and this is one of them. I like to stand in the middle of a crowd of zombies… let them start to close in… then UNLEASH HELL…cutting, punching, cheering and finally leap-frogging or vaulting over the head of the crowd and hitting them from behind. Whether you’re a zombie enthusiast, a hardcore gamer or just a prepubescent teen who loves the T & A offered up in the game…Buy Grasshoppers Lollipop Chainsaw!
